POWERBIM for Clash Detection – Nursery in Sant Pere de Ribes

Automated BIM quality control and audit: Implementation of the POWERBIM platform for the management and integration of clash detection tests in the Sant Pere de Ribes Nursery project, democratizing access to interference data across the entire technical team and improving building efficiency in key phases.

Democratizing quality control and interference management in public facilities

The Sant Pere de Ribes Nursery project represents the practical application of POWERBIM as a collaborative environment for the review and quality control of BIM models in public building projects. Traditionally, clash detection tests remain confined to specialized software with difficult access for developers, public inspectors, and non-modelling architects.

With POWERBIM, interference data generated by engines such as Navisworks is dynamically connected to the federated model and to analytical dashboards in Power BI. The solution allows structuring an intelligent clash matrix, classifying issues between MEP systems, structure, and architecture. Through real-time navigation, any team member can select a clash from a data chart and immediately visualize the involved objects highlighted in the 3D viewer, facilitating expedited conflict resolution and continuous tracking of project evolution.

“POWERBIM transforms complex and unintelligible clash reports into interactive and actionable dashboards, allowing validation of building model quality in seconds from any web browser”

Developed Technologies

Bidirectional connection between interference lists and 3D model elements. By clicking on any clash within the dashboard, the POWERBIM viewer automatically isolates and highlights the involved components.

Automatic grouping of massive clashes according to the interference matrix defined for the project (e.g. MEP piping vs. concrete beams). Allows managing hundreds of individual conflicts in logical work packages.

Chronological tracking of clash status across different project deliveries. Allows transparent audits of design progress and effective conflict resolution by engineering teams.

Direct export and import of issues via the open BCF (BIM Collaboration Format) format. Ensures seamless communication with modelling teams in Autodesk Revit or other software without information loss.

Synthetic visualization in interactive dashboards displaying key clash metrics by level, discipline, and severity, providing CatSalut and Ajuntament municipal technicians with a clear view of project maturity.

100% web-accessible platform that eliminates the need for costly licenses or powerful hardware, allowing architects, construction managers, and public developers to actively participate in quality review.
